Time to say goodbye...

Some personal news......

After just over three years I will be leaving PaddleUK at the end of this month. It's been a great journey and I've learnt so much about Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe and importantly about myself and my leadership. Its been an honour and a privilege to lead two more World Class Programmes full of dedicated and passionate staff and athletes.

Leading the Paracanoe team into Paris and my fifth games with my third sport was an amazing experience even before the record breaking outcomes. I'm so proud of the way the team has adapted and developed over the last cycle.

Canoe Sprint is an amazing sport with the finest of fine margins defining outcomes at the elite end of the sport. Paris Olympic qualification was always going to be really challenging for the paddlers, we got close but fell short. I've been lucky enough to experience some great triumphs in my career but its the misses that really fuel me to find new ways and continue to develop.

In the recent months, I've led the team to develop a clear strategy for LA and through some significant changes. I really believe the sport is well positioned to create foundations that can lead to sustainable success in the future.

Over the coming weeks and months I'm looking forward to reflecting on and sharing what I have learned from the last 25 years about building high performance teams, cultures and environments and leading success that is sustainable and repeatable.

I want to thank all the athletes, the WCP and UKSI staff, PaddleUK Staff, PaddleUK Board and wider flatwater paddling community for their support, their honesty, their energy and their commitment.

Best of luck on your future aspirations - be brave, be confident, and most importantly "Believe"
