I've been proud to lead amazing teams in the high pressure, high stakes environment of the Games. 4 years focussed work resting entirely on delivering a performance over a few intense days of competition. No room for error and no way to delay. Here's 5 Tips for building high performance teams that consistently deliver under pressure.

1. Invest time with each other socially. Really get to know each other.
2. Deliberate practice of pressure moments. Test procedures and communications in with real scenarios. Interrogate with genuine interest what you learnt and how you can improve.
3. Leave ego's at the door. Absolute clarity of roles and responsibilities whilst also ensuring everyone is prepared to flex to cover whats needed as situation requires.
4. Look after each other - understand what each of you looks like on a good day and a bad day and how you can support each other.
5. Keep perspective - make it fun, sing, joke, tease, find the humour. Enjoy being with each other, those memories will last a lifetime.
